Since 1988, the Royal Rumble has been one of the most important and undisputedly entertaining annual events in the world of wrestling. Each year, held in January, the big four pay-per-view draws the attention of both casual and hardcore fans as WWE begins its Road to Wrestlemania, and fans speculate on their dream bouts for the grandest stage of them all. The rules are simple. Two competitors start in the ring. Every two minutes, another combatant enters and elimination occurs when a wrestler is thrown over the top rope with both feet touching the floor. This continues until only one man remains, and that man (or woman) earns a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania.
