Barroso addresses UN General Assembly

Jose Manuel Barroso spoke about Europe's important role in eradicating poverty and achieving the Millennium Development Goals. Holding European efforts in high regard, Barroso made a commitment to grant a further 1 billion euro, to those countries who need it most, and for MDG projects that need a boost. The European Commission president also appealed to Europe's partners to manage the funds well, and to increase transparency and good management practices.
