More snow fell Tuesday and more snow is on the way.

Meteorologists said the increase in snow this winter means the metro is getting back to normal.

"This year is a lot more average," said Mark O'Malley with the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill. "It's a few more snow events than we'd normally see, but it's not overall unusual."

After a few mild winters, Kansas City is back in the middle for snowfall this season.

And that is good news for farmers.

"Probably lead to very good conditions in the spring for the area growers, for farmers," O'Malley told KMBC's Dan Weinbaum.

O'Malley said that if the metro gets 6 inches of snow on Thursday, it would push us into the above-average category.
