Multiple Brush Spot Fires On State Route 94

Multiple spot fires were reported along Eastbound State Route 94 from Federal Blvd to Massachusetts Ave. at about 12:30am. Dozens of Firefighters from San Diego Fire-Rescue and Heartland Fire-Rescue responded. One fire about a half acre burned close to a recycle facility but no structures were damaged. Fire investigators are investigating the cause. Arson is suspected because of the distance between each fire. A total of 3 spot fires were reported. San Diego Police, San Diego County Sheriff and The California Highway Patrol helped with traffic control.
