Near Amsterdam, Holland, The Netherlands OLD STYLE HOUSES OF ZAANSE SCHANS. G.V. The 'Zaanse Schans', the area around the river Zaan with windmills and highly decorative wooden old-styled Dutch houses, newly built using the 400 year old designs. Some houses have a so-called 'death-door' which is only used when somebody dies, and the real entrance is aside the house. Interior shots of the houses, with fireplaces which are beautifully decorated with tiles, wooden features and decorative mouldings.
