Dave Leckrone, just-retired senior project scientist for the Hubble Space Telescope Program speaks about Hubble's final mission. This lecture, the fifth in a series of programs in 2009, is presented through a partnership between the Library's Science, Technology and Business Division and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Speaker Biography: Dave Leckrone received a bachelor's in physics from Purdue University and a master's and Ph.D. in astronomy from the University of California at Los Angeles. He has worked at Goddard since 1969 and on the Hubble since 1976. As a research scientist, Leckrone is an internationally recognized authority on the abundances of the chemical elements in stars. Earlier this year, Leckrone was awarded the NASA Distinguished Service Medal, the highest award the agency bestows.
