He was a cucumber before he was lost and drowned at sea, thus converting him to his salty state. I make this stirring discovery mid-eulogy. You can imagine my embarrassment as the Cabbages shieked and the Parsnips left, postively outraged (aparantly there is some racial tension between the Cucumbers and Pickles).
