Health Secretary Matt Hancock (pictured) has banned the NHS from buying fax machines amid concerns that they are not a secure means of passing patient information in UK hospitals. It came after the service was revealed to be the world's biggest buyer of the machines. There are currently 8,000 in service across the NHS, all of which will be completely phased out by April 2020.
