And so it begins. We move on to Rock Band 3. I am finding this game quite enjoyable, mainly because I just wanted a bunch of new songs. That's not to say I don't have gripes with this game. My main gripe lies with this idiotic "sustain" system on drums. Basically, it'll give you the basic layout of the notes it wants you to hit, and you're allowed to hit it at any speed. The problem is, is that I seem to find a way to break my combo entering or exiting this sustain system almost every bloody time. Bleh. Other than that, I like the game. The drum engine is definitely at least a little bit tighter than RB2. It's not as dramatic as I thought it would be overall, but I definitely have to focus more to not have my combo break by a very slight timing mistake.

I picked this song for a multitude of reasons. I wanted a song to start off my RB3 videos that wasn't too hard [so I wouldn't need to grind while still sightreading songs], nor too easy [so I wouldn't bore you]. This song definitely fits. It's a tier seven on drums, but I think it's a bit over-tiered. It's not that bad outside one fill, but we'll get to that. Plus, it does have the drum sustain at the end I was bitching about. I get to show that even if I hate it, I'm not 100% incompetent with it. To show it off a bit, I did purposely speed up during the sustain. I'll be honest, I have not heard of this song or this band before this game came out. However, it is quite a funky track. I can dig this kinda sound.

Hardest Part: The fill in Guitar Solo C. I managed to hit this thing sightread somehow, but I didn't do it the epic crossover way I did in this video. You could technically RLLRLL for this fill, which is what I did sightread. However, I crossover not just to show off my amazingly awesome plastic drum crossover skills. I'm more consistent with this method. Other hardest part is the sustain at the end there, although that's probably just not being used to it yet. This song also throws quite a few rolls at you. It's definitely not a song you can slouch your way through and expect an FC.

Worst Choke: Yeah, I did choke on the sustain once. First run actually. I made it past Guitar Solo C with an FC a few times, only to miss due to nerves. It only took me twenty minutes to get this run, though, so nothing too bad.

But yes. The hardest part with getting a new game, is figuring out which songs to make videos for. If anyone has a suggestion [and please keep them to FC'able ones], I'd be all for hearing them. I'll do what I can. Oh, and I know the topic of 'Pro Drums' will come up at some point. Unfortunately, I don't have the capability to do pro drums. I have two very old [and probably non-working] cymbals. Beyond that, I only have one ion clamp that can even hold the cymbal...so yeah. Sorry guys. Anyways, enjoy, and more videos to come!
