This is GHM73's great arrangement, which is a little less straighforwardly "rawk" on the verses, put together with a vocal and riff idea. Also, it's an attempt to focus in on what this song is about, by looking at the character who is talking and what he (or she) is trying to say when they bust out with this big and sort of ridiculous "let the rockers roll"-type chorus. My take on it is that it's an internal voice saying "fuck you, responsible folks who want me to follow a boring path in life. I'm rocking hard, like it or not." But I think the way to make that idea interesting and to explain why the sentiment is so sort of corny and hyperbolic (and yet totally sincere) is to set it up as a tension with the verse vocal, which expresses the other pressures on this kid. I guess the overall feel of this arrangement is pretty "lite," but I think it could actually be pretty happening if the beat was a touch more hip hopish and the chorus had that full-bore, compressed Marshall stack type of crunchiness.
