Metro North Train 1981, the 4:50PM Waterbury Branch Shuttle from Waterbury to Bridgeport, departs from Derby Shelton. At about :45, we pass the Shelton Cutoff for the Maybrook Line which ran to Danbury, through to Poughkeepsie, and then across the Poughkeepsie Bridge and down into Maybrook in Orange County. Unfortunately, it is dusk now so there is nothing to see. However, I announce when we pass it. I'll try to take a video with more light next time to show where the Cutoff is. It is just south of Derby Shelton Station. Today's consist is a pair of back to back FL9M's, 2016 the leading engine and 2027 the trailing engine on the south end, and three Shoreline II cars, 6370 cut in behind 2027, 6446 in the middle, and cab car 6316 on the north end. I apologize for the crappy view, as I was standing in the vestibule of the car right behind the engine, and it is somewhat hard to see through the car entrance, as well as the fact that it was getting dark out. The video was more or less taken just to hear the engine and its many wonderful sounds, especially the sound of the revving of the 567C engine. The video was taken on January 9th, 2008.
