This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. The TEDxPlano 2014 theme was "On The Verge" and Amanda Austin is On The Verge of transforming the DFW comedy scene, one hipster comedian at a time.

Originally from Tyler, Amanda has been diligently working to put the DFW comedy scene on the national comedy map. She's passionate about the creative process and is a self-professed nerd for learning. She feels most inspired when her peers and students are saying "Yes, and" to the creative process of life while always looking for an opportunity to put a smile on someone's face.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
