Pioneer CLD-2850 LD Player gamma turn mechanism fault

My CLD-2850 Laserdisc player has a fault with the gamma turn mechanism, I have owned this player since 1994 and it has been in Storage for the last 15 years, I have only just started to use it again as a mate gave me some LD’s known I had a player and out of interest to see if it still works, the gamma turn mechanism turns the laser head from side A to side B. I seen on the Laserdisc forever facebook page some one had a fix for the gamma turn fault and I thought I’d have a go at fixing, the fix didn’t quite go as planned.
