Imagine applying a simple patch instead of undergoing painful procedures to repair nerves. The traditional method for repairing nerve damage is surgical suturing or tissue grafting. They're both invasive procedures and not effective in regenerating nerves. UNSW student Rodman Chan has come up with a much simpler alternative - a bio-fibrous scaffold. It's a tiny patch that's surgically inserted. It's biodegradable and biocompatible with human cells.
