How can professors help STEM students dance on the sculpture of engineering? Joseph Tranquillo uses the laws of thermodynamics to explore collaborative and creative processes. Recently, his students have shown how the value of the interstitial spaces between disciplines could be the key to succeeding as a team in the execution phase. Joseph Tranquillo is an Associate Professor of Biomedical and Electrical Engineering at Bucknell University. Joe was the founder and inaugural chair of the Biomedical Engineering Society Undergraduate Research Track, and co-founder of the KEEN Winter Interdisciplinary Design Experience. His work has been featured on the Discovery Channel, TEDx, US News and World Report, and CNN Health.
