This is recent footage of the East Walker Ranch section of Placerita Canyon in Newhall, CA, the site formerly occupied by SDI (Special Devices, Inc., an aerospace/automotive ordnance manufacturer) from around 1960 to 1999. The property was eventually acquired by the city of Santa Clarita as part of its open space project, and and converted 'back to nature' for use as a public hiking and recreation area. The site has been cleaned-up quite thoroughly, although a few remnants of retaining walls, burms, and roads still remain.
