One of the greatest and most spectacular automotive history projects was made ready for the public in December 2008 when the new Porsche Museum in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen was finally completed. Located directly in the very heart of this world famous sports car company, the Museum serves up a blend of rich tradition and current accomplishments destined to fascinate and thrill visitors from all over the world. More than 80 cars are on display in the 5,600 square meters (60,250 square feet) Exhibition Area styled and designed futuristically by the Viennese architects Delugan Meissl, ranging from the legendary wheel hub motor of the Lohner-Porsche, the worlds first hybrid automobile built as far back as in 1900, all the way to the latest generation of the Porsche 911.
