This is my second time killing The Dark Alchemist in HC/Elite. Most of the gear I used this time around (weapons included) came from the gambler vendor in the Mapworks room. The first time around I stacked damage reduction up to about 60% for both physical and elemental damage. High base elemental resists plus the 2,000~ armor you can have while "Shred Armor" is active makes you nearly unkillable to single targets. The "Rage Retaliation" skill is also extremely useful since it can proc stacks of the armor skill without you needing to do anything.
