Here is my vintage 1950s "Cold War" Meter Dose-Rate Portable No.1 Geiger counter.
But I have a problem I don't know how to power it up. It has a very weird battery compartment (and the battery connectors don't seem to be simply 2 wires), which has room for 2 different removable batterys (and I think theres also a permanent battery). Looking on the internet it seems that the 3 batterys are all custom milatry and all are different voltages. (batterys are long since gone). There are 6 wires coming out of the battery compartment.
Does anybody know what voltages to put into this, and what polarity?
On the internet I can find out about similar devices but there is no reference to this exact one. ("Meter Dose-Rate Portable No.1")
This device is in perfect condition (I am not even sure if it has ever actually been used, other than testing, the service tag plate is empty).
