Here's something new that I wanted to try--a walkthrough of Super Mario Galaxy using the Dolphin emulator, where I play as Mario to find all 120 stars.

If you have a good enough PC, the Dolphin emulator handles this game pretty well.  You must use DSP LLE if you want the orchestrated background music to work throughout the whole game.

Note that I would get the occasional freeze/crash, but it would normally happen within a few seconds of saving the game. I only had to replay a level once due to Dolphin crashing towards the end of the level.

Also note that you can earn the stars in this game in various orders and the way I did it is a bit unorthodox, but I still show all 120 stars being found.
