NYC announced new measures to reduce lead exposure risk in NYCHA homes

The city will now begin environmental investigations for all children younger than 18 who test above a blood lead level (BLL) of 5 micrograms per deciliter. The announcement comes one day after a report that more than 800 children had elevated levels of lead in their blood.
