When technologies evolve, programmers each day feel more confortable writing more and more complicated code, which keeps requiring more CPU, more memory, more disk and especially more bandwidth. In first world countries there usually is not a problem providing and accessing the necessary bandwith, but what about third world countries, when standards are set to 1Mbps or even less? In this discussion, we want to cover techniques and approaches to make lighter Joomla websites, which can be accessible from low bandwidth points without sacrificing quality and good taste. Mobile initiatives such as Bootstrap and light template frameworks will be considered and discussed.
