Long-time Hope City Board member Charles "Bucky" Sharpe was honored with a reception by the City of Hope, Hempstead County EDC and Tourism Commission February 6th, 2007 at Hope's City Hall. Sharpe has served on the city board over 30 years and it is believed he holds the record for longest service to the city board.
