Prior to March 2017, I added the lyrics and chords to my videos using YouTube annotations. However, YouTube decided to make annotations obsolete at that time as they did not work on mobile phones, so since then I have been adding them using my own video editor app.
YouTube did promise that annotations that already existed on videos would still be visible on PCs, but they seem to have changed their minds on that and they are no longer visible.
Consequently, if you are watching a video uploaded before 2017, annotations are not available.
If you are not able to get the annotations, send me an email and I will let you have the file from my own collection. [email protected]

A notorious criminal, Richard Turpin, better known as 'Dick' has been the subject of many romanticised stories, but was in fact a ruthless gangster, highwayman, horse thief and murderer. He committed much of his highway robbery in the vicinity of London, but later moved to Lincolnshire and Yorkshire where using the name 'John Palmer', he was arrested for being drunk and disorderly having shot a game-bird in the street belonging to his landlord. While in prison for this offence, he wrote a letter to his brother-in-law in London seeking an alibi, but as this relative refused to pay for the letter which fell into the hands of the local post master who recognized Turpin's handwriting having taught him to read when younger, Turpin's true identity was discovered and he was hung for his many crimes. This song is one of the romanticised stories of his life as a highwayman.
My 12-string guitar has been lying in disrepair for a number of years until now, but thanks to the work of young Mr Mitchell of Mitchells and Norris Music in Douglas, it has now been repaired and this is its first outing on video. Hope you like it.
My apologies for the interference on the sound. I had not yet realised just how far away from my mike I needed to be to eliminate this.
