http://marismith.com -- what does it take to make sure you have the right outfits for the right occasions? A LOT of planning ahead and a terrific team!! My team and I conduct much research with event hosts well in advance to find out about the audience, other speakers, the venue, the stage set up, colors, lighting, backdrop, logo and more. We have a specific process and checklist for each occasion. And, for media (TV interviews, video shoots, live webinars, photo shoots etc), we have a whole other set of checklists to ensure just the right look. The goal is to look amazing, but not to detract from my personality or the message. The focus when speaking/being recorded always needs to be on the *message*... and should never look like an outfit is wearing me. An outfit needs to enhance and augment. I also strive to wear a variety of colors (now that I stopped wearing turquoise 24/7 after four years of doing so!). And to avoid wearing the same outfit/color too close together so that my social channels don't have photos that are too 'samey'. I know, I know - for most folks, this all may be completely over the top detail.
