"Lathe Of Fury"...The ass-kickingest, post apolyptic, slam banging-est, Kung Fu blood bath this side of the Hudson river...And the other side too! Give them sass and they'll kick your ass! Jump back jack, or your skull is cracked! No one alive can woop these guys, when the boys blow into the Big Apple, rip it to the core and burn it to the ground! Shot in Technorama-Super 8...Too big for the small screen, too much for the big screen! Tempers grow and blood flows in this multi hundred dollar extravaganza!!! Hold on to your balls and go along for the ride. Action out the Ying-Yang! We were 18 and ambitious!!! It was the summer of 1980. We were 18 (Some of us were 17) and we decided to make a Super 8 epic. Armed with a Super 8 camera, our allowance and more ambition than common sense, we set out to shoot a post apocalyptic, sci-fi, martial arts flick. "The Warriors" meets "Escape From New York" (Although, Carpenter didn't make "Escape" until 1981). We decided to call it "Lathe Of Fury" (I still don't know why!) and shot it on location in Hoboken, Manhattan and Uniondale, Long Island. We shot without permissions or permits and how we got away with some of this stuff and didn't get arrested, I'll never know!
