We were hanging out in the parking lot of Kabuki Sushi in Hastings Ranch (Pasadena), California smoking after my birthday dinner at Kabuki Sushi on April 29, 2011, when we saw a closed movie theatre across the parking lot.  Since I love exploring abandoned stuff, we decided to try and sneak in.  It was clear we could get inside, but there was a security guard posted at the location, driving around in a golf cart.  He eyed us suspiciously, so we decided to just approach him and ask if we could check it out.  It turned out this gentleman was quite friendly, so we asked him if it would be possible to view the inside of the theatre (the concession stands had already been demoed, but the theatres and projection booths themselves were intact).  He let us in and gave us a walkthrough.  There was minimal lighting inside and we were completely unprepared to explore, so there are some quite dark portions of the video.  The theatre inside was cool, but very dark and a little creepy (which we love).  We got a walkthrough and then left.  It was quite satisfying closure to my birthday to go check out an abandoned spot on a belly full of raw fish.  The location is / will be turned into an LA Fitness.
