Just playing with clay... Modeled from a hexagonal cylinder in 2 hours or so. Spent another 3 hours surfacing, animating and comping. This is all one piece. Only 519 polygons, so there's plenty of room to detail. It actually started out looking more like a viper. I'll have to upload a slideshow of the 24 in-between versions. The fact that the star and planet lighting in this backdrop don't agree is really starting to bother me. Using it as a reflection map yields some impossible results. I may need to make a new backdrop for my playground.
