Thousands flocked to New London, CT., for the annual Sailfest weekend and stayed late July 12, 2008, to witness the Grucci fireworks family's famous exploding handiwork. The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and Foxwoods Resort Casino sponsored the New London fireworks show deemed the 4th "largest, biggest and best fireworks display" by Fireworksguide.com. The Day of New London photography staffer Sean D. Elliot was behind the time-lapse photos that documented the event.
