A poignant moment today at NMSU as the Space Shuttle Endeavour flew over New Mexico State University, piggybacking atop a jumbo jet for its final home in California. Because NASA's Johnson Space Center at White Sands Test Facility is only a few miles away from NMSU, many on NMSU's faculty and student body had a close connection to the shuttle flights. In tribute to White Sands Missile Range, Johnson Space Center, Holloman Air Force Base and professionals from NMSU and Las Cruces who supported every mission, the shuttle made a low flight today over White Sands, the Mesilla Valley and NMSU on this, her final journey.
