I like to think of this tricopter as an "AnyCopter with a Tricopter Flavor".

My first tricopter had a bad crash which ended up cracking the frame and needed to be rebuilt. Instead of building another identical tricopter based on HallStudio's plans again, I decided to try FliteTest's "AnyCopter". I have been building their FT Swappable foam airplanes and they have turned out great! Their "AnyCopter" design was their first step into the multi-rotor scene and I thought it would be a good replacement.

This video focuses on assembling the AnyCopter into a tricopter from plans that were printed off the FliteTest site website and cut out of plywood. It assumes that you did not purchase the landing gear pieces with the motor mounts and provides alternative ways to replace them. The circle frame plates were cut from 1/8" plywood and assembled with 6-32 1" screws. If you purchased the kit off their site, this video is not for you because you can follow the original FliteTest build video.

The idea for the rear servo mechanism is from HallStudio's Simple Tricopter (simplecopter.com) design here:

If you don't want to cut out the parts yourself, you can buy the frame here:

Here is the AnyCopter build video by Chad on FliteTest where he uses FliteTest accessories to build a quadcopter:
