Instead of wanting to hang out with the president of the company, you may want to hang out with the janitor. Your desires for stuff and worldliness falls away. Your conversations and dialogues change. Ram Dass used to read the New York Times for a long time. When he went to India, he didn't even know that Martin Luther King had died. When he got back to the states, he was caught up completely in a very short time. When you reach a higher state of consciousness, you are leaving a level of reality that will continue to pull on you to "come back."
