Shooting the 6 stages at the CAPS Club IDPA Match Dec 10, 2017 This was an absolutely beautiful day to shoot. Temperature was nice for a day in December. Some challenging stages in this match. Had a opportunity to shoot through a light truck cab at targets on the other side. Didn't make too many mistakes. On stage 3, we were instructed to put 3 shots on each target. You get in the habit of doing double taps all the time so when it calls for 3 shots one often regresses to only putting in two if you aren't thinking. For the next to last target I put two in and moved on to the last. I almost stopped shooting before I glanced really quickly at the second to last target and realized my mistake. Cost me a little bit of time, but I would have earned a 5 point down penalty for the miss and 3 second penalty for not shooting the required number of shots per target. So it was worth it to take the time to go back. I fumbled the reload on this stage too which cost some time as well. Practice makes perfect. Shooting in SSP with an Heckler&Koch VP9 chambered in 9mm Performed under the supervision of a trained safety officer at Best of the West Shooting Sports in Liberty Hill, TX.
