Misty Horner's Husband No Longer With Police

Caleb Horner is no longer employed by the Lee's Summit Police Department, KMBC reported Monday. Horner's wife, Misty, died in January 2007, a month after the couple's child died during birth. The baby was delivered stillborn in the couple's home. Misty Horner died of septic poisoning a few weeks later. Relatives said Caleb Horner did not believe in seeking medical care for himself or his wife. Misty Horner's family said she was brainwashed into a cult-like belief led by Caleb Horner's brother, John. In December, prosecutors decided that no charges would be filed in the death of Misty Horner. The interim city manager said Caleb Horner was no longer employed with the police department as of June 20. He would not comment further.
