Nathaniel Shilkret was the musical director for Victor Records in the 1920's and he led the studio's main house orchestra, which was billed (not surprisingly) as Nat Shilkret and the Victor Orchestra. Apart from the main house orchestra Shilkret led many other sessions featuring smaller chamber groups or salon orchestras. One of these was Shilkret's Rhyth-Melodists, which usually featured 5 - 10 musicians and whose output generally consisted of skillfully-arranged performances of current pop tunes with little or no jazz improvising. The organist on this piece is none other than Fats Waller. Victor 21298-A recorded 3/3/1928
