A total solar eclipse will occur between 1709 UTC (6.09pm BST / 1.09pm EDT / 10.09am PDT) on July 11th 2010 but will only be visible to people in the South Pacific Ocean. There is only one landmass that will see the whole eclipse (including the total phase) and that is Easter Island (nee Rapa Nuie) between 1840 UTC and 2134 UTC. However due to it's remoteness only the truly dedicated eclipse chasers will get to see it. Ove the next few days I shall try and create a simulation of the eclipse as seen from the island.
