The Mid Sodor Railway has been reopened after being closed down and abandoned since 1947. New engines have been bought onto the railway but there is one that had remained there after it closed. The little green engine was turned into a generator but is hoped to be rebuilt into a full working engine again. Since he was the only engine that was left there we are now renaming the railway after him to "Smudger's Railway".
