While my dad and I were driving off Scott AFB well I was in charge of driving. The signal for 23.8 was red so there was an westbound coming as soon as I crossed the tracks I gunned it I was going 45mph in a 35mph zone then when I got to the highway I was going 55mph because I wanted to catch it at Shiloh Station Road. With luck on my side I had the traffic lights all green so I knew I was going to make it in time before the train shows up. As I drove up to the crossing I heard the conductor call out the signal on Scott AFB. I got out the truck went to the other side and saw the train coming down the hill. When I'm driving were not going to miss a train LOL. R.I.P. C39-8's it's been a long time since I've seen one of yawl.
