Town or country? I run an errand into the City of London and visit one of my favourite stretches of 'countryside' - London's Hyde Park. Over 300 acres of fantastic open space in the centre of one of the world's greatest cities. Yes it may get busy but there are many quite spots and much to see. Fantastic trees, memorials, statues, the Serpentine, Rotten Row - the list is long. Bordered by the equally famous Park Lane, Hyde Park is a short stroll from high-end shops in Bond Street and landmark hotels such as the Ritz, Claridges and the Dorchester - and so the park is a retreat and refresh for many people of all walks of life.
