I beat this puzzle a long time ago, but went back to it as the main mechanic in this level was used in other ways in more recent puzzles. Items that are not picked up by Mario interact differently than items that Mario picks up. The POW in this puzzle drops straight down if Mario does not grab it, but interacts with the sideways spring if Mario does. You have to use this mechanic to figure out the correct order of operations in order to reach the last key door as big Mario carrying a POW. 

Since I had forgotten my original solution, I had to solve this puzzle again. After I cleared, I went back to see my original solution and to my surprise, it was nothing like this solution. My original solution is here:
