GOTRA is a Sanskrit word for a group of people who are connected because they share the same vision and goal. With Care to dance, there is a heartfelt goal: connecting modern dance to people with Parkinson's disease. Maïté & Nicole present a dance program for people with Parkinson's Disease which is really about creating new connections in the mind/brain and thus directing the body.

They juxtapose two 'universes': the creative world of the dancer & the limited universe of the Parkinson patient. And although these worlds lay miles apart, like the north and the south pole, both are busy getting the body to do what the mind wants! They will share their idea why modern dancers in particular (and not just movement therapists or neurologists) can help people with Parkinsons disease. Modern dance can create new connections in the brain / give new paths and thus new solutions - to move the body!

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
