Andrae Crouch said that I look like a farmer and encouraged me smile emoticon Read the story below.
At the time I was in a Swedish Gospel choir named Solid Gospel and with the choir I had the privilege of going on tour with the great Andrae Crouch, twice. As anyone who has heard his music knows, he has written so many fantastic, unforgettable and touching songs. What a gift he had. It was so very inspiring to be on tour with this Gospel-great. So, we are in this small town in Sweden and just as I am walking up to the soloist microphone to get ready for the next song I hear Andrae saying in a fun and charming way… Look……, Look at this guy……, Doesn’t he look just like a farmer?… but I tell you this guy can sing! Hahahah. So I take it Andrae and I did not share the same taste in fashion at the time. I thought I was looking kinda cool;). haha. However I was very much encouraged by him, complimenting my singing. It meant a lot to a young singing man from Sweden to hear those words from this man who was so influential and who has worked with so much talent. That was very encouraging. And meant a lot to me.
I am sad to hear about his passing. Rest in peace, Andrae. THANK YOU For the unforgettable great music you gave us all, and the encouragement you gave to me.
My dear friend and musical soulmate the keynius Markus Linnell Zovic and I, decided to make a simple version of one of the many great songs Andrae gave us. Here is our simple rendition of ”The promise”.
