Opened in 1956, Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium has hosted many spectacular events, including the 1980 Summer Olympic Games. The original stadium was demolished in 2013 to be rebuilt for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Its capacity for the global football competition is 81,000.
