Add a Glowing Neon Text Effect to our Retro Neon Sign in Illustrator. This is the final part of a 3 part tutorial on creating a retro or vintage neon sign effect in Illustrator. In part 1 you learned to make the actual sign. In Part 2 you learned how to add a glow effect to the sign to give it some dimension and depth. In this final part you will see  how to add the text to the sign so it too glows.

The neon text effect that we are using is all done to the original text object which remains editable so you can change the word and the neon text effect remains intact
