The report shows police made more than 144,000 stops in 2014. It breaks down the information by race: Asian/other, Black, Hispanic and White drivers. The report says of those stopped, 11.2 percent were black drivers although they made up only 5.8 percent of the population. 30.2 percent of those stopped were Hispanics, who made up 26.6 percent of the population. It shows that black drivers made up 14.9 percent of the arrests. Hispanics made up 34.7 percent of arrests. Among Asian and Caucasian drivers, the arrests were lower than their populations. The data also shows that black and Hispanic drivers were searched more often compared to Asian and white drivers. "That suggests there could be a problem with racial profiling. We certainly hear it anecdotally from members of the community," said ACLU policy director Margaret Dooley-Sammuli. #Copwatch #SanDiego #FilmThePolice
