Directed by Gabriel Martins (Brazil, 2011). Official Selection International Film Festival Rotterdam 2012. Watching Doña Sonia do the washing-up, little do we suspect what she is capable of. She effortlessly executes her mission. Everything is surprising in this condensed narrative from the favela: the narrator, Doña Sonia herself, her son, the neighbour and the gun. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.
