This polar bear seems to enjoy winter weather, but it is just one of many animals outside on a cold Thursday afternoon in December. On this day, the elephants, the cheetahs, the giraffes, the red panda, and the ostriches were also outside. Zoo animals provide scientific evidence that animals can and do adapt to environments other than ones nature intended for them. (Also, the polar bears seem to enjoy Philadelphia Zoo summers, too!)
