This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Times have changed for magicians. People are more informed and do not believe in the supernatural as much as they did before. Christian Wedøy is one of Norways most aspiring illusionists. He took the national stage by storm at the finals of Norkse Talenter in 2012. In August 2014, Christian recreated Harry Houdini’s stunt when he locked himself with chains and handcuffs and jumped from the Old Town bridge into the Nidelven. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
