Four teens arrested over ramming of police vehicles at Sale

FOUR children — two aged just 15 — have been arrested over the ramming of two police cars during a dramatic intercept at Sale in the state’s southeast.

The rear of a police divisional van was extensively damaged and another police car also damaged.

Three officers involved were not injured.

It’s the second ramming on a police car in as many days.

Officers had followed a stolen car to an industrial estate in Sale when the police vehicles were rammed as it fled.

The car was driven 6km to Wurruk where police apprehended three girls — one aged 15 and two aged 16 — and 15-year-old boy on Arnup Rd.

The drama began at about 9am when police spotted the stolen car at Traralgon on Princes St.

They used a mobile phone in the vehicle to track where it was going over a distance of 50km.

Victoria Police said the car was driven to Rosedale where a local police car attempted to intercept it on the Princes Highway in Kilmany but the car evaded police and headed towards Sale.

It was then finally cornered in the industrial estate.
