This is the Division 2 Girls race (Race 5) from the 2017 CIF Southern Section Cross Country Finals, held on November 18, 2017 at the Riverside City Cross Country Course (3 Miles).

Commentary:  The top 7 are the D2 royalty of this era.  Led by State Champ Haley Herberg, this group went 1-2-3-4-6-7-10 at State.  Same with the teams.  Claremont ends the season as repeat State Champs with Saugus behind them in second and Cap Valley in 4th.  Impressive strength.  Claremont, with only 1 senior among their top 5, figures to very tough again in 2018.
